Blue Point Oysters are named for the town of Blue Point New York, on New York’s Long Island. Years ago, Blue Point Oysters meant that they came from this town. Today, the word has become synonymous with any medium sized Atlantic oyster. These oysters are best during the winter months. They have a mild, creamy flavor that is reminiscent of the smell of the beach. Growing to anywhere between 2 and 4”, they are best eaten raw on the half shell.
